I have spent the last forty years studying, practicing and teaching self-awareness using meditative practices combined with modern psychology. The prevailing view of emotions by meditative practices has been that they are a weakness and personal failing and a medical disorder to be treated and cured by modern psychology; in both instances, emotions are seen as something to overcome. In my personal life and professional experience as a yoga therapist, neither approach works. You will find, as I have, the precious value of your feelings.
